For many people across Liverpool, getting to a dental surgery is the hardest part of looking after their teeth. A trip into the city centre, parking near Bold Street, or arranging hospital transport from the suburbs can turn a simple check-up into a day-long ordeal — and for someone who is frail, housebound or living with dementia, it often means dental care gets put off for years.

We started visiting patients at home across Merseyside precisely because of that gap. Today we cover the whole city and the areas around it — Wavertree, Childwall and Woolton in the east; Allerton, Mossley Hill and Aigburth to the south; Garston and Speke; and out across the water to the Wirral, taking in Birkenhead, Oxton and Prenton. We also reach north to Crosby, Bootle and Southport for patients and care homes in Sefton.

Because we plan our Liverpool visits by area, we can usually offer an appointment that fits around a carer’s rota or a family member’s day off. Everything happens in the one place the patient feels safest — their own armchair — with no waiting room, no travel, and no rush.
